Our Story

Marina Bulgari, a third-generation member of the famous Bulgari family of jewelers, was one of the most influential women in jewelry design of the 20th Century. In 1976, driven by ambition and a desire to forge her own path, she left her family's iconic Maison to found Marina B. Her bold, timeless style quickly gained global acclaim.

Marina B's jewels are audacious and feminine, at once innovative and classic, characterized by a shocking, joyous use of color and set apart by a uniquely luxurious blending of occidental and oriental design influences. The innovative techniques and a flair for the unexpected in employment of materials give the house's designs their unmistakable flair.
Marina pioneered gemstone cuts, creating the Castagna cut which has become the house's symbol, and reimagined traditional forms, setting new standards of creativity and craftsmanship. Her designs, glamorous but effortless, empowered a new generation of women to buy fine jewelry for themselves. The world had changed, and Marina created a new language of design to celebrate the women, women like herself, who were changing it. Women like Elizabeth Taylor, Betsy Bloomingdale, Grace Kelly, Nan Kempner, and Sophia Loren, whose lives were lived in the public eye turned to Marina B to equip them with jewels as bold as they were, jewels that would blur the line between proper and playful, precious and pop. While the lives lived by Marina B clients were unmistakably modern, they enjoyed with Mrs. Bulgari the attentive care and ultimate discretion that can only be characterized as old world and truly bespoke.

Today, Guy Bedarida, Creative Director and Chairman of Marina B, continues to honor Marina's legacy, blending innovation with the enduring elegance that defined her work. Guy's background; designing for Boucheron on Place Vendome in Paris, head designer for Van Cleef and Arpels in New York, and longtime Creative Director of John Hardy, perfectly prepared him to capture and champion the essence of Marina B. Under his leadership Marina's visionary spirit lives on: classic, elegant, innovative.
