Liana Bangkok is a contemporary French fine dining restaurant offering a seasonal menu in harmony with the European seasonal change. It proudly presents aromatic, fresh, and light French dishes with subtle elegance, highlighting the beauty of local ingredients. The restaurant is the brainchild of two founding chefs with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion for cooking: Thai-born Warat Areerom, also known as Head Chef Bic, and his Korean wife, Pastry Chef Soohyun Lee. They draw inspiration from nature to craft Liana’s distinctive offerings, blending seasonal ingredients and modern French technique with cultural influences from both chefs.
Chef Bic and Chef Soohyun first met at Tante Marie Culinary Academy in London, the UK’s longest-established cookery school. They later worked together at the two-Michelin-starred Marcus Belgravia under Chef Marcus Wareing, honing both classical techniques and contemporary presentations in a fine dining environment.
With extensive experience in London’s fine dining scene, both chefs bring a strong culinary
foundation, weaving their heritage into the gastronomy that defines Liana.
Chef Bic, being Thai, showcases his versatility with local ingredients, adapting them into
seasonal menus that evolve throughout the year. Chef Soohyun, drawing on her Korean
background, elevates the dining experience with delicate desserts that surprise and delight.
In the creative process of developing new menus, Chef Bic envisions the mood of each
seasonal offering, selecting colors and standout ingredients from the market. He
collaborates closely with Chef Soohyun to ensure every element harmonizes with the dining
journey. Freshness and quality remain their top priority—over 90% of fruits and vegetables
are sourced directly from local farmers, while seafood is carefully selected from Southern
Thailand.
Liana’s approach to service is welcoming, friendly, and attentive, while ensuring that the high
standards of fine dining are consistently met. At the helm is Restaurant Manager Hanbit Lee,
originally from Korea, who brings a wealth of multicultural experience from The Ritz-Carlton
Key Biscayne, Miami, Royal Caribbean Cruises, and Arcane, a Michelin-starred restaurant in
Hong Kong. Hanbit ensures that her team genuinely connects with each guest, making the
dining experience more personal and meaningful.
Liana offers a modern, seasonal tasting menu in a beautifully restored house in Bangkok’s Old Town. Led by a Korean-Thai chef duo trained in London, the experience flows through bright flavors and quiet surprises in an intimate 32-seat space.
Nestled inside a century-old house in Bangkok’s Old Town, Liana brings new energy to a historic space — an intimate, modern dining experience where guests are invited into the rhythm of the kitchen.
Gentle curves inspired by the liana vine and handcrafted details by local artisans set the tone for a memorable evening at Liana.
Chef Bic leads the kitchen at Liana with a contemporary French approach and a deep appreciation for seasonal ingredients. His dishes lean lighter, aromatic, and quietly unexpected — a reflection of his time in London’s Michelin-starred kitchens and his close connection to local produce.
Plating in motion. After years of working extensively with quail in London, Chef Bic brings his own expression to the plate—dry-aged, gently smoked, served with burdock, mushroom, and sunflower.

filtering through a canopy.
At the heart of the space, stone and wood converge in a kitchen
counter, symbolizing the elements of the forest and strengthening the connection to nature.

heritage come alive before guests’ eyes. This open setting embodies the freshness of
